God's Plan

Photo by Julia Volk from Pexels

This poem was inspired by Last Words, a poem by Rita Dove.

I don't want to live on a page
Of fiction and bliss
With feet sunk in pink sand
Comparing Essie's talk to the sand

I don't want to soak and bathe
In a clawfoot tub, Moroccan rose oil
Floating rose petals, Santal 26 candle burning
Sipping Angel Champagnein a daydream

Some may think this is all too much
Or maybe not enough
This is my Lamborghini
This is my version of a Hermes Kelly

The Gentile Converts

This poem was inspired by Psalms 118, an abecedarian poem in the Hebrew Bible.

Amen!
Bended knees and prayer has reached the King,
Caring hands hide me from the enemy,
Doom covers the wicked,
Evil-minded men, beware.
Faith has brought me out of darkness,
God's grace and mercy saves me,
His lovingkindness is forever,
I am grateful for my blessings,
Jesus is my Saviour.
Kind beyond my understanding.
Life has brought me many lessons,
Many times, I have fallen.
Nailed to the cross, crucified for my sins,
Open the gates of the Temple, I need to thank Him,
Praise the Lord!
Quarantine can't stop my praise,
Rejoice and be glad, this is the day that the Lord has made,
Scriptwriter of Revelation.
Thank you, Lord, for loving me.
Understanding, that I am weak, but He is strong,
Victorious in fighting my battles,
Why do I worry?
Xmas is every day, for every day I am blessed,
Yin and yang, all things are working together for my good,
Zero, no one greater than the Lord, He is the Alpha and Omega.

Rose Quartz

Casila - Photo by Casila

Am I your breath,
Your rib, taken from your chest
Created so you wouldn't be alone
Your companion
Helper, suited for your need
A part of your flesh and bone
Together we are one
I am gifted to you
You called me, Woman.

Diamonds

This year, my friends, shine bright like a diamond.  I'm beginning this year with a diamante poem about love and hate.  When I decided on the subjects, I didn't have any problem with the latter.  My rough-draft consisted of words like self-seeking, shaming, dishonoring, corruption, offensive, wronging, and slandering.

When it came to choosing words to describe love, I struggled.  Ask yourself, what is love?  I pulled out the book of life, the Bible, like I was going to fail another open book test. I read 1 Corinthians 13:4-8; I didn't want to divert from the subject.  How did I do, friends?

Love

Merciful, Considerate

Entrusting, Appreciating, Protecting

Kings, Queens, Trolls, Wicked-Witches

Betraying, Neglecting, Violating

Cruel, Greedy

Hate
